Tactical Pistol Training Course

 

Horst and McCann is offering a terrific opportunity to handgun enthusiasts to learn from top rated instructors on a brand new tactical outdoor range located in Harford County, Maryland. The course will be offered to the first 10 registrants.

Course Requirements:

Adults over 18 years of age or minors over 16 years of age accompanied by an adult
Ability to walk nonstop for 400 yards
Ability to stand, kneel, sit, squat for at least 10 minutes duration
At least one of the following:
Active Concealed carry permit (any US State)
Active US military ID
Active Police Officer ID
Proof of purchase of one regulated Firearm in the past 30 days requiring the completion of form 4473
(Individuals not meeting any of the above criteria will be subject to a criminal background investigation)
Cold/wet weather gear. You will be doing significant firing outdoors in an unprotected environment.

Course fee: $650 (plus $25 for criminal background check if required)
Program will be held rain or shine. Sorry, no refunds will be offered for cancellations, but we will allow students to sell their spots to qualified participants.

Course Outline:

This course is designed for the shooter with intermediate or advanced handgun skills. The course reinforces proper shooting fundamentals, and then rapidly advances to tactical “real world” scenarios. Students gain the confidence and combat reaction speed necessary to win at close quarters. The course stresses proper mindset and a train-to-win attitude. The course provides training in the following areas:

  • Safety
  • Equipment considerations
  • Proper ready positions
  • Shooting platform
  • Shooting on the move
  • Malfunction drills
  • Proper use of cover
  • Tactical reloading
  • Terminal ballistics and shot placement
  • Low light shooting
  • Introduction to basic room clearing techniques
  • Small team tactics
  • Weapons retention and take away
  • Timed pistol combat qualifications

Our Instructors

United States Marine Corps combat veteran who served in Iraq in the Al Anbar Province. Former member of the Marine Corps elite F.A.S.T. company (Fleet Antiterrorism Security Teams) tasked as a rapid response team to recover all Nuclear Naval vessels or U.S. foreign Embassies that have been taken over by terrorist. Certified expert in small unit tactics including hostage rescue and is a military certified firearms instructor.

United States Army veteran trained in airborne infantry tactics and certified U.S Army instructor. Retired police officer who served with a major metropolitan police agency, assigned to the special operations section. Former member of an elite SWAT team and cross trained in counter sniper operations and hostage rescue. Expert in small unit tactics and is a certified firearms instructor with over 25 years of tactical training experience.
